Getting Started

Your New CMS Website

If you are a new website owner or are transitioning your existing website to our new CMS website for the first time, you'll find the information on this page useful.  First you should know that your new website is called a Content Management System (CMS).  The advantage of a CMS is that it is built to allow you to manage and update your own website. Your CMS is based on a template developed in coordination with our search experts and graphic designers, that reflects and promotes your brand while making your website visible in the search engines.  Our team has optimized your CMS so that it can be indexed by search engines, which means the millions of people in your industry searching for your products and services online will, if you promote your site effectively, find you before your competition.  We are actively promoting techniques and helping clients get the most out of their online experience as they increase traffic to their websites.  Visit our Search Marketing area to learn more about how you can bring your website to the top of the search results.

Below is a checklist of things to do to get your site rolling.

  1. Check out the demo sites :
    1. Visit our Demo Site to visit a demonstration CMS site that will let you play around and familiarize yourself with the CMS.  The user manual is located hereContact us for login details.
  2. Hosting and maintenance : Click here for details on hosting and maintenance plans.
  3. Backup your emails - if you are accessing your emails via the Internet (not via your mail client, ie. Outlook), you are accessing your emails directly on the server, and will want to back them up before switching to our server.  The same goes for mail clients using IMAP (most mail clients use POP).  CWD does not provide email service or support - contact Mailtrust to sign up for email and for any email related questions.
  4. Constant Contact - Constant Contact is the preferred newsletter provider for CWD.  Click on the banner below to learn more and to sign up for a 60 day trial. If you're already signed up, you'll need to provide us with your username and password so we can setup integration on your new website.  This will let users sign up for your newsletter via a sign-up box on your site.
  5. Emails for Small Business with Constant Contact
