Frequently Asked Questions

Here you'll find the most commonly asked questions.  We'll post more as they are asked.

How Do I Log Into My Site Once It Goes Live?

Your site, prior to going live, is on one of our development servers.  Before going live, you make updates by logging in to the development server.  Once we "flip the switch" and your site goes live, however, it will be located at www.example.com.  So, to log in to edit your site once it's live, you'll need to visit www.example.com/user.

Changes I Made Aren't Showing Up On The Site?

We use a caching mechanism to increase site performance.  This reduces resource usage and loads pages faster for your visitors.  But it also means pages won't update for 30 min - 1 hour for users that are not logged in.  If your page still hasn't updated after this time, your browser may be retrieving an outdated page from its own cache.  To clear your cache visit this page and follow the steps correlating to your browser.

When I Upload and Link a File the Link Won't Work?

To link to a file, you first highlight the link text, then click the insert/ edit link icon Insert/ Edit Link Button, followed by "browse server."  Upload your file (can be PDF, DOC, HTM - note that if you upload an HTM file it will load a new page (your HTM webpage) when clicked on), and select it.  Finally, before selecting OK to place the link, make sure you change the "protocol" from http to other.  The protocol must be on "other" to correctly establish the link to files you've uploaded. Note - the protocol, in our new systems, is automatically updated to other.

How Do I Get My Cursor Above a Table?

If you've created a table on your page and are having trouble getting the cursor to move above the table, contact us. As a rule of thumb, you want to leave an empty space above a table. In other words, hit Enter to create a line before adding a table. This will enable you to add more content above the table at a later time.

Images Are Too Large or Take Too Long to Upload?

Check out Google's Picasa image editing software. It's free, and will let you resize your images prior to uploading them, which will make them upload faster. You can set the width to anything that's 525 px (pixels) or less (the width of the content area - if you don't resize them this is what the system sizes them down to for you). The height should automatically adjust. To resize an image, simply select it, and then click the "Export" button at the bottom of the screen. You'll see a dialog window pop up that will let you resize and save the image.

Can I Double-Space Or Single-Space a Line?

Are you having trouble getting lines to either double-space or single-space? To double-space, simply place the cursor where you want the double-space to occur, and then hit the Enter key on your keyboard. To single-space, hold the Shift key down while pressing Enter.
